Therapeutic yoga is a comprehensive, restorative system that’s great for seniors, people with injuries, and those living with chronic illness. It blends Yin and Restorative Yoga with breath awareness and meditation.
Chair yoga is a complete and dynamic yoga program for those that are limited to a chair, have difficulty accessing the floor, or have limited space available (e.g. yoga at your desk). Chair yoga provides all the benefits of a regular yoga practice.
By taking the joints and muscles through their full range of motion we increase mobility, strengthen the body, and improve flexibility. With an increase of blood flow and oxygen, we pump up the lymphatic system to encourage the release of toxins and improve cellular function.
By taking the body through a sequenced series of seated stretches and breathing techniques, we enhance the function of the immune system, stimulate the digestive and circulatory systems, lower cortisol levels, and decrease stress and anxiety. This leaves the practitioner feeling refreshed and renewed. Most importantly, chair yoga is advantageous for everyone!
By practicing yoga during pregnancy you create deeper harmony in your body. In addition to specialized training in prenatal fitness, my experience as a Certified Childbirth Instructor, Doula, and mother of four gives you the confidence that your yoga program is safe and helpful.
With gentle stretching that tones and strengthens your muscles and breathing techniques that relax and calm you, you’ll maintain and even increase your energy throughout your pregnancy and be better prepared for labor and delivery.
Reiki is a subtle practice where the hands are placed in specific positions on the body to release tension and move out stagnant energy. Warmth from the practitioner boosts circulation in the client, leading to detoxification and a renewed sense of mental clarity. Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that promotes overall balance and well-being in the body, mind, and emotions. I use essential oils during Reiki sessions to deepen the healing effects by reducing stress, calming the mind, and soothing the body through oils chosen specifically for you.
